Hold on to your trash cans, trampolines, and eyelashes ladies and gentlemen because the borderland is expecting yet another windy day today!

A Red Flag and High Wind Warning are in place because we are expecting wind gusts of up to 55 mph between 2 p.m. and last until 8 p.m. Thursday.

Blowing dust and sand is always a possibility with these strong wind gusts, but when gusts reach over 50 mph driving conditions can become even more dangerous, so drive with caution!

Now, if you live near Horizon or any part of town that has an occasional tumbleweed rolling around I suggest you prepare to do some karate moves trying to dodge these tumbleweeds because from personal experience, they come out in full force on windy days.

Doppler Dave even issued his own Tumbleweed warning after a man shared photos of dozens of tumbleweeds that piled up on his property after a windy day!

However, tumbleweeds rolling around are just one of many things that remind locals of a windy day in El Paso.

Here are a few other ways El Pasoans know when it’s been a windy day in the EP:

"You wait to take your trash cans to the curb for fear they will blow away."

Facts. My trashcan will stay in my garage until next week because I don’t want to lose it again and I definitely don’t want to have to try and bring it down from a telephone line!

"My eyelashes are fluttering up and down and eventually hang on for dear life!"

LOL! I am thankful that I don’t have that problem.

"Fitfam's stories are full of trampolines."

These are more facts! Trampolines on phone lines, in your neighbor’s yard, or the middle of the street!

That’s why I always tell people to tie down their trampolines because those are always the first things to go!

“I cant see the mountains.”

Yup. Instead of our beautiful Franklin Mountains, we see a brown, hazy sky and we wonder if we’re in the Wizard of OZ movie!!
