If the Miners were going to lose to a C-USA opponent, it was going to be a solid team that put together a solid effort. Basically, a perfect storm Today, that storm blew into the Don Haskins Center then blew out taking away the Miners perfect C-USA season and dropped the Miners to 25-3 overall and 14-1 in C-USA...

In front of the largest crowd of the season, the Miners put together a strong performance and put away the SMU Mustangs 68-50 to clinch the outright C-USA Championship. With the win, UTEP moved to 25-2 overall and 14-0 in C-USA. Funny thing though, the celebration you would expect following a regular season conference championship didn't happen...

On the day of Coach Adams 300th victory celebration, her Miners gave her number 301 in a 67-38 beat down of the University of Central Florida and moved to 8-0 in C-USA and 19-2 overall. Jumping out to a 7-0 run to start the game, the Miners took a 33-18 lead into halftime and never looked back...

Last year, the Miners played the Houston Cougars three times and they lost, 3 times. This year however, is a different story to say the least. Sunday afternoon at The Don Haskins Center, in front of 2977 very loud and loyal fans, the Miners produced what you might consider a very big statement by whipping Houston 87-43 and improve to 6-0 in C-USA and 17-2 overall...

The Miners got off to a much better start tonight than they did on Sunday and put away what turned out to be a very good Tulsa squad, 67-56. It took a little while, and trust me it was not for lack of effort but the Miners finally pulled away near the end of the game and have now moved to 14-2 on the season and a first place 3-0 record in C-USA...

The Miners turned in yet another impressive performance to stay undefeated for the season and moved to 9-0 first time in school history with a 74-51 beat down of Northern Colorado. Coach Keitha Adams joked with me after the game, calling her team "soft, like charmin" when I asked her if she thought her Miners would ever play a team that is as physical as the Miners are...

It was a big weekend for both UTEP basketball teams. On Saturday, the women remained unbeaten and set a school record for the best start in program history (8-0) with a 53-43 win at New Mexico.

Once again, the Miners put together an impressive "team" performance and breezed to an 81-52 victory over Lamar, taking the Miners to 7-0 for the first time since the 1996-1997 squad did it. When I say "team" performance I mean it. The Miners not only controlled Lamar on the court but they controlled the stat book too...

The Sonic Battle of I-10 on Tuesday night was far from a battle and watching tonight's game makes you wonder what  Lady Miner team was at the Pan Am Center for  the 76-72 OT victory on November 16th. The Lady Miners went on a 9-2 run and took a 23-8 lead over the NMSU Lady Aggies at the half...

Keitha Adams announced the signing of three new basketball players for the 2011-2012 season.
