Once again, the Miners put together an impressive "team" performance and breezed to an 81-52 victory over Lamar, taking the Miners to 7-0 for the first time since the 1996-1997 squad did it.

When I say "team" performance I mean it. The Miners not only controlled Lamar on the court but they controlled the stat book too. The Miners bested Lamar in every statistical  category but one, Free throws.

The Miners out shot Lamar 46% to 32% from the field and 28% to 25% for beyond the arc, out rebounded them 52-30, had another huge game in assists with 23 to Lamars' 10 and added 4 blocks and 9 steals to Lamars' 2 and 7.

After the game, Coach Keitha Adams was asked what the Miners did wrong if anything? She said that when she put in 5 substitutes for the starting 5, there was a communication breakdown and they were yelling out who was to be guarding who. I can tell you this, that was the move of the game in my opinion. The second 5 came in and pushed the lead out to 9 points behind the scrappy hustle of Jenzel Nash and the Miners never looked back.

The depth on this team is impressive to say the least. The unselfishness is very uncommon in the basketball world these days and the fact that not only Coach Adams but the players themselves feel they have areas to work on and still improve in, is a testament to this team and the attitude they have for winning.

The Miners get a few, well deserved, days off before they head to The Pit to take on the Lobo's of New Mexico on  Saturday December 10th. Tip is set for 2pm.

The Lobo's are going to have their paws full.

Go Miners!
