Boxing fans were treated to an entertaining evening of bouts on Saturday at the Don Haskins center that included hometown favorite Antonio Escalante, and 2 main events for Bantamweight championships.

Antonio Escalante told me yesterday, that all he had on Francisco Camacho was 1 Round of tape and it was all that he need to see. He was absolutely correct as Escalante dominated from the opening bell and earned a TKO over Camacho in the 4th Round...

On a beautiful El Paso day, media and fans alike, converged on The Garden in downtown El Paso for the weigh in's for all the fighters for the Battle On The Border. Without much excitement though, Abner Mares and Eric Morel both made weight and are ready for tomorrow night and their fight at the Don Haskins Center on Showtime...

The UTEP Women's Basketball team played their final home game of the 2011-12 season Sunday afternoon on Senior Day against Rice.

In front of the largest crowd of the season, the Miners put together a strong performance and put away the SMU Mustangs 68-50 to clinch the outright C-USA Championship. With the win, UTEP moved to 25-2 overall and 14-0 in C-USA. Funny thing though, the celebration you would expect following a regular season conference championship didn't happen...
