About 1.5 million Americans suffer from Lupus, with over 5 million people suffering around the world. Even with these large numbers of people being diagnosed, there is still no known cause for the disease or cure. The Lupus Foundation of America is having their annual Walk To End Lupus Now fundraising event this weekend. The event is held to bring awareness to the disease and the fundraising efforts to try and find a cause, and a cure, for this debilitating disease.

Lupus is an autoimmune disease that medical professionals know very little about. Doctors find it difficult to diagnose, while the patients suffering from the disease find it difficult to perform everyday activities due to the large and differing symptoms. The disease also strikes without warning at any age and can be fatal. Unfortunately for those suffering from Lupus and their loved ones, the study of the disease is underfunded. The Walk To End Lupus Now is an event that will hopefully raise more money to help research and better understand Lupus.

The Walk To End Lupus will be happening in El Paso this Saturday, September 14th and check-in will begin at 4 p.m. The Walk will be held at 6p.m. and the end ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. To pre-register for this event, please visit the El Paso Lupus Walk website.
