Can Hurricanes fans get a refund for their Sun Bowl ticket since the team backed out? Sunday night, Sun Bowl fans were put on edge after the University of Miami's football program was forced to back out of the New Year's Eve match-up due to a spike in COVID cases in the program. Many fans were wondering if the game would be canceled yet again after a large amount of COVID cases in the Borderland forced its cancellation last year. Football fans spent the day on social media, checking out every bit of gossip about what teams could possibly come through and save the day.

Thankfully for us, the Boise State football team was also hit by a number of COVID cases which caused their team to pull out from the Arizona Bowl in Tucson. That left Central Michigan without a team to play against and put them pretty close to El Paso. The Sun Bowl Association began ironing out the details, according to 600 ESPN El Paso:

"Although the ACC would no longer receive the approximately $2.3 million since Miami pulled out of the game due to COVID, the MAC would get a much larger cut than the $175k they were supposed to receive in the Barstool Sports Arizona Bowl. Add in CBS Sports televising the game instead of Barstool's YouTube channel, and the move from Tucson to El Paso is a no-brainer."

But what about all the Miami fans who were planning on coming to El Paso for the game? Does that mean they're stuck with tickets to a game they don't want to attend? Thankfully, KTSM sports reporter Colin Deaver got an answer from the Sun Bowl Executive Director:
