City officials are encouraging the El Paso community to show some love to our medical and health professionals during the COVID 19 pandemic by shining a light of support in Unite with Light.

Our community is being asked to show support to our frontline medical and health professionals and first responders who are working non-stop to fight the COVID 19 virus. Unite with Light asks that beginning this Friday, April 10, 2020, at 7:30 p.m. and every Friday thereafter we light up our porches, apartment windows, and balconies with any kind of light such as candles, flashlights, glow sticks, or any kind of light. Some folks have even put back up their Christmas lights to show their support.

Since day one many doctors, nurses, firefighters, paramedics, and other medical professionals have been on the frontline of the coronavirus epidemic, putting themselves at risk and even avoiding contact with their family members to avoid getting them sick as well.

Shining a light is but a simple act that we can all participate in to show our appreciation and solidarity of our medical community. Residents are encouraged to share their photos and videos on the City of El Paso’s social media platforms with the hashtag #UniteWithLightEP on:
