El Paso’s Dia De Los Libros Dia De Los Niños 2022 Event Details
Dia de los Niños, Dia de Los Libros, the one-day celebration of kids and books is back for 2022 at Memorial Park in central El Paso.
After two years of virtual programming due to the pandemic, the City of El Paso is happy to announce the return of Día de Los Niños, Día de Los Libros, at Memorial Park Reserve.
The popular children’s event is set for Saturday, April 30, featuring thousands of free books for children, various educational and interactive booths, entertainment, and much more.
This year the El Paso Library, Parks and Recreation, and the Great Khalid Foundation will come together for the one-day annual literary event.
Local author Luke Lowenfield and artist Hal Marcus are also participating by donating copies of their latest children’s book, “Muchas Gracias Maria.”
And beginning April 4 through April 9, the El Paso community can also get in on the action by donating a new unwrapped book in return for a free original chicken sandwich at Chick-Fil-A, available only at the Mesa and Desert Boulevard locations.
Apart from books and educational booths, girls from 1st through the 12th grade can participate in the Sun City Stealth Girls Football Team for free.
Día de Los Niños, Día de Los Libros began in 1997 as a partnership between the El Paso Public Library and the Parks and Recreation Department and mainly through the efforts of El Paso children’s author Pat Mora.
Over two decades later, the literary event is still going strong and uplifting our youth thanks to the efforts of our community.
