I'm a proud Burges High School alum, Class of 1984, and I've been watching the renovation of the school that has begun in the past few weeks. There are a lot of changes coming to my high school, and a couple of things that will change the look of Burges is a new Running Mustang statue and engraved tiles.

Burges alumni are raising funds for a new Running Mustang statue that will be placed in the new Quad area to be built on campus. The proposed statue measures 8' x 11' x 3' and would be on a 2-3' ft. pedestal. The alumni group is asking for donations for the statue. The statue will include engraved tiles with the names of donors.

The tiles are available in two different forms. You can get a tile with a single line of print for $75. You can get a tile with three lines of print for $200. The tiles will be placed around the new Mustang Statue. Once funding for the statue and its installation has been taken care of, remaining funds raised will be transferred to the P.C. Jordan Scholarship and the Burges Alumni Legacy Scholarship Funds.

The original gold Mustang will be placed in the new building's foyer. The Mustang mosaic will also be placed in the new building. The new Running Mustang will go in the new outdoor quadrangle with the commemorative tiles all around it.

Donations to this cause would be a great gift for a Burges alum! Go Mustangs!
