Burges Junior Running Back Tavorus Jones Picks Up Alabama Offer
Jones, a 6-foot-0 running back out of the class of 2022, now has three Division I offers going into his junior season, including the Crimson Tide, the Longhorns and SMU. Through his two years of varsity action, Jones racked up 1,358 rushing yards, 9.2 yards per carry and 22 total touchdowns. He is a versatile athlete too, with experience at quarterback (253 passing yards, three touchdowns), wide receiver (506 receiving yards, five touchdowns), special teams and cornerback. Currently, Jones is not ranked on 247 Sports' website.
Here is another example of El Paso continuing to be a recent hub for running back prospects. Aaron Jones—no relation to Tavorus—became UTEP's all-time leading rusher and is finding success in the NFL with the Packers. Josh Fields out of Americas was also highly touted, earning offers from the likes of Texas Tech, and has played three years for the Miners. Parkland graduate Deion Hankins racked up offers from Arkansas, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech, but elected to stay home and play for UTEP. Class of 2021 standout tailback Aaron Dumas from Americas recently received an offer from Arizona State and continues to receive interest from Power-5 schools.
