The Miners played their final non-conference home game of the season with a convincing 72-44 win over Houston Baptist. The game marked the first time that the two teams have met since the 1991-92 season.
The last time the Miners were shutout at home was in 2003 when they lost 34-0 to San Diego State. Nearly a decade later SMU accomplished the same feat by defeating UTEP 17-0 at the Sun Bowl. It has been the same old song for UTEP all season long, they played a solid game defensively, but continue to have no offensive rhythm at all.

It's obvious and impossible to ignore. At his weekly press conference UTEP head football coach Mike Price says the Miners are having problems offensively and that he and his staff have to find a way to help the team find consistency there. UTEP will have its hands full against SMU this Saturday.
