Cowboys Fire Defensive Coordinator Rob Ryan

After a week 17 loss to Washington, Jerry Jones promised to make things uncomfortable in Valley Ranch.
Jones lived up to promise today by firing second year defensive coordinator Rob Ryan. Ryan had one year left on his contract.
In fairness to Ryan, he had to deal with a multitude of injuries, and a revolving door of players signed off the streets. Even with all the injuries, Ryan’s defense was considered a disappointment.
In 2012, the Cowboys ranked 19th in total yards allowed, and 24th in points per game allowed.
Ryan told ESPNDallas.com’s Tim MacMahon:
“I inherited a team that was 31st in the league in defense and made them better. I (expletive) made them a hell of a lot better. I’ll be out of work for like five minutes.”
As the ‘church lady’ once said, “We like ourselves, don’t we?”
