Singer Chris Brown is a perfect villain for the world of wrestling. Current and former WWE champs CM Punk and the Iron Sheik are using Twitter to call out the Grammy-winning R&B performer, who is most infamous for assaulting fellow singer and former girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.

Current WWE heavyweight champion CM Punk started the Twitter fight with this tweet:

twitter.com/@cmpunk

“I would like @chrisbrown fight somebody that can defend themselves. Me curb stomping that turd would be a #Wrestlemania moment”

Brown countered the move. Twice. He’s since removed his first statement questioning CM Punk’s manhood:

“@CMpunk needs more followers. Such a leader! Not to mention the roids hes on has made it utterly impossible for him pleasure a women.”

But Chris Brown left this tweet up:

twitter.com/@chrisbrown

Of course, former WWE champion the Iron Sheik could not let this pass without commentary. The Sheik has eviscerated Brown on Twitter with tweets that are mostly NSFW and very threatening. We’ve adjusted this one to illustrate Sheik’s attitude.

twitter.com/@the_ironsheik

Smartly, Chris Brown has yet to respond to the Iron Sheik. However, Brown is tweeting away with Rihanna, as the two have released remixed versions out of her song ‘Birthday Cake’ and Brown’s new single ‘Turn Up the Music.’

If the singers’ relationship stays on this WWE-like track, many people would be glad to see Rihanna dust Brown with a steel chair.

If you aren’t tuning into ‘Private Practice’ on Thursday nights, you’re not only missing out on some crazy hospital drama, but also some of the best eye candy on TV. The female doctors are constantly turning on the sexy, and making men everywhere glad that they finally decided to watch a show with their partner.

Today’s ‘Crush,’ the lovely Caterina Scorsone plays Amelia Shepherd, a troubled young doctor who occasionally dabbles in drugs (not the prescribed kind). What can we say, we enjoy bad girls. Especially the girls that like to play doctor. We are great at playing doctor except we always give ourselves ailments that kind of ruin the mood. It’s hard to want to get frisky after telling your partner you’re dying of testicular cancer. Real mood killer.

As evidence from the photo below from Caterina’s twitter, her and her female cast members like to get a bit freaky on the set. Caterina is one of Canada’s finest imports, and that is why we are crushing on her today.

In a GQ article that has officially gone viral, Broncos quarterback Brady Quinn had some less than flattering things to say about number 15.

Michael Silver, a senior NFL writer for Yahoo! Sports, was as perplexed by ‘Tebowmania’ as anyone. Silver got quotes from Tebow’s teammates, other players in the league, analysts, coaches, and executives to provide an oral history of the Tebow story.

Predictably, the guys who haven’t held back relished the opportunity to lay into Tebow. Terrell Suggs, Nick Barnett, and Shawne Merriman marginalized the Tebow story to nothing more than luck and smoke and mirrors.

Von Miller was quick to come to Tebow’s defense and offered encouraging words. However, it’s what quarterback Brady Quinn said that grabbed people’s attention. Based on what Quinn said it doesn’t look like he will be in a Broncos uniform next season.

Early in the season, there was a game when Kyle [Orton] got hurt and the coaches were calling for me to go in, but Kyle got up and finished the game out. So I was the second-string guy. Then, a few weeks later, they decided to put Tim in. I felt like the fans had a lot to do with that. Just ’cause they were chanting his name. There was a big calling for him. No, I didn’t have any billboards. That would have been nice.

It became apparent how much it was starting to bother Quinn after the Bears game. He had this to say.

We’ve had a lot of, I guess, luck, to put it simply

If you look at it as a whole, there’s a lot of things that just don’t seem very humble to me. When I get that opportunity, I’ll continue to lead not necessarily by trying to get in front of the camera and praying but by praying with my teammates, you know?

Millions will watch when NASCAR’s 2012 racing season begins Sunday with the Daytona 500 (1 p.m. ET on Fox). The stock car racing circuit has grown tremendously over the past 30 years, fueled by dizzying speeds, charismatic drivers and owners, and rivalries that gave the sport drama. Our Sports Movie of the Week, ‘Days of Thunder,’ has all of those qualities. The 1990 film was a significant moment in the growth of NASCAR as the once regionally-confined sport branched out into Hollywood.

In the film, Cole Trickle (Tom Cruise) is a brash, young open-wheel race car driver who wants to graduate to NASCAR. Team owner and car magnate Tim Daland (Randy Quaid) gives Trickle a shot, but the young driver has much to learn. Crew chief Harry Hogge (Robert Duvall) tries to keep Trickle focused enough to capitalize on his skills. Along the way, Trickle finds a rival in Rowdy Burns (Michael Rooker) and meets potential love interest Dr. Claire Lewicki (Nicole Kidman). However, one small mistake on the track could destroy all of his dreams.

Five Reasons to Watch ‘Days of Thunder’

1. Late former NASCAR driver Tim Richmond and his crew chief Harry Hyde served as inspiration for the characters portrayed by Tom Cruise and Robert Duvall.

2. Partly because of Cruise’s role as the leading man, the film comes off as ‘Top Gun’ for auto racing. Director Tony Scott’s quick cuts and splashy use of vivid imagery moves the film at an intentionally quick pace.

3. Rusty Wallace, Neil Bonnett, Harry Gant and several other real life NASCAR drivers appear in the film.

4. The ‘ice cream’ and ‘rubbin’ is racin’ ‘ scenes have become essential viewing for NASCAR fans.

5. Members of the ESPN TV racing crew of the 1980s and ’90s, including announcer Bob Jenkins and reporter Dr. Jerry Punch, are included in the film.

Long before Drew Carey, ‘The Price Is Right’ was hosted by a master swordsman by the name of Bob Barker. Barker found a way to make a game of Plinko interesting by surrounding himself with some of the loveliest ladies on the planet. There wasn’t a teenage boy who didn’t fain interest in a game of Cliff Hangers played by a Ohio grandmother, just so he could catch a glimpse of a model’s prize package.

Through research, we learned a few things that every blue-blooded American male should know about ‘The Price Is Right’ models. We found out that there are only five models in ‘rotation’, and that at any given time five ex-models sued the show over some sort of grievance.

Anyway, we took to the internets and did some exhaustive research to drill down to the ten hottest ‘The Price Is Right’ models of all time. Ladies, come on down!

Janice Pennington

Lileks.com

Janice is widely known as the, “Queen of ‘The Price Is Right.’” She earned that crown as the longest running model, from 1972 to 2000.

Gabrielle Tuite

Getty

Other than being a model on ‘The Price is Right,’ the Brooklyn born stunner hasn’t done much. That is unless you count playing a ‘Beautiful Porsche Woman’ in ‘Deuce Bigelow: Male Gigolo.’

Gena Lee Nolin

Getty

Gena followed up her sadly short sting on ‘The Price Is Right’ from 1994 -1995, by playing the character Neely Capshaw on the series ‘Baywatch’ from 1995 to 1998.

Claudia Jordan

Claudia hails from the biggest little state in the union (Rhode Island) and was a ‘Price is Right’ model from 2001-2003. She really stretched her acting wings when she became ‘talent’ on the game show ‘Deal Or No Deal.’

Nikki Ziering

Steve Sanders (AKA Ian Ziering) might have spotted his future ex-wife on ‘The Price is Right’ from 1999-2002. We can’t confirm if he won her over with some of Nat’s famous apple pie at the Peach Pit.

Lanisha Cole

Cole dated Quest Love from ‘The Roots,’ and has carried on the tradition of suing ‘The Price Is Right’ for sexual harassment. Ironically, the names of the producers she is suing are Michael Richards and Adam Sandler (no relation to the actors).

Cindy Margolis

Getty

Once known as, “the most downloaded woman on the internet,” when we relied on a dial up AOL to get our thrills. Sadly she was only on the show for one year.

Rachel Reynolds

Once tabbed to replace Brooke Burke on ‘Wild On’ E! many remember her for for crashing a car on set. Nobody seemed to mind.

Dian Parkinson

Quages.com

Parkinson sued Barker for sexual harassment in 1993. Barker admitted in court that he had a ‘Showcase Showdown’ with Parkinson, but maintained that it was consensual.

Manuela Arbelaez

Arbeláez was one of the five finalists in ‘The Price Is Right’ Model Search contest. Although Arbeláez did not win the contest, justice was served and she joined the regular rotation beginning in 2009.

Shane Stirling

Getty Images

Shane burned her bridge with Barker when she filed suit claiming she was fired for having a baby. The $25,000 suit seems to have been settled out of court. As Happy Gilmore once said, “the price is wrong b*tch.”

When the New York Yankees shipped A.J. Burnett to Pittsburgh last week they actually paid the Pirates $18 million of the $31 million left on his contract so they would agree to take the underachieving pitcher off of their hands.

If that wasn’t insult enough, the Yanks took a final jab at Burnett in this hysterically awkward press release announcing the trade:

Burnett, 35, was signed by the Yankees as a free agent on December 18, 2008, to a five-year contract. In his three seasons with the club he went 34-35 with a 4.79 ERA (584.0IP, 311ER) in 99 games (98 starts). His 58 wild pitches recorded during his three-year stint with the Yankees (2009-11) were the most for any Major League pitcher over a three-season span since Tony Cloninger threw 62 wild pitches from 1964 through 1966, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.

He posted an 11-11 record with a 5.15 ERA (190.1IP, 109ER) in 33 appearances (32GS) with the Yankees in 2011, setting career-highs in home runs allowed (31) and tying a career-high in earned runs allowed, while ranking first with a franchise-record 25 wild pitches – the most by any Major League pitcher in a single season since the start of the 2000s and the fifth most since 1900.

Ouch. The press release is notable for two reasons- first, that it only lists what amounts to negative statistics — it doesn’t, for example, mention Burnett’s above average 174 strikeouts in 2011 or the World Series he helped the team win in 2009. What really makes one scratch their head is all the space spent dedicated to wild pitches, which isn’t typically a statistic pitchers are judged on.

Imagine if the Yankees find a taker for Alex Rodriguez’ bloated contract. That press release will include mentions of Madonna, a cousin buying HGH and centaur paintings.

Looks like marketing professional Terra Mayfield isn’t just at the top of her game in the business world. You’ve all been deliberating your hardest to find a new Babe of the Week, and Miss Mayfield here is your clear winner.

Coming in at a close-ish second is Taya Parker, that bombshell who won the ‘Rock of Love Bus’ reality show. Amy Markham put in a good fight, but ultimately fell to the third spot. But enough of that, let’s get back to Mayfied.

Aside from modeling (which is only a hobby for her, by the way), Mayfield works as a graphic designer and social media consultant. So, on top of being among the hottest chicks we’ve ever come across, she’s also thriving member of the workforce. This means you can actually have a conversation with her that extends past the “OMGs” and “LOLs.” Hott.

I’m still saddened by the passing of Hall of Fame catcher Gary Carter. The 57-year old was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor last May, and fought until the very end. Carter spent 19 years in the big leagues and was an 11-time All-Star. He was best known for his five seasons with the New York Mets.

As a longtime Mets fan, I have fond memories of their 1986 World Series Championship. Carter, along with Keith Hernandez were the leaders of that team. It was Carter’s single with two outs in the 9th inning of Game 6 that kept their World Series hopes alive. Two batters later, Carter scored on a single and the next batter was Mookie Wilson. What happened then became the stuff of baseball lore. A slow ground ball, finding the slightest room under Red Sox first baseman Bill Buckner’s glove, and then trickling into right field. The Mets won Game 6 in improbable fashion, and Carter was one of the first players to congratulate teammate Ray Knight at home plate, as he scored the winning run. New York went on to win the following night to capture their first World Series title since 1969.

As a 13-year old kid in El Paso, I still remember taking a Polaroid picture of the final out of the 1986 World Series (it’s in my autograph book). So, you can imagine the thrill I had when 20 years later I was able to interview “The Kid” over thephone on Sportstalk. I found that interview this morning, and had not listened to it in almost six years. Carter, who was managing the Mets’ high-A affiliate in St. Lucie at the time, had just been named to the same role for the Futures Game. We talked about family, managing in the Minor Leagues, and his thoughts on the 20th anniversary of the `86 Mets. After listening to the interview, it’s easy to understand why he was such a likable person and fan favorite.

“When I retired in ’92 as a player, I basically wanted to spend more time with my family, but I still wanted to try and stay involved with the game. It’s been a game that I loved and had a great deal of passion for; it’s been my life.”

“You really have to come up with your own way of managing, and I feel you go on gut feelings sometimes, you go with whims, you go with who you think will win you a ballgame…I’ve been there before, I’ve won a World Series, I’ve been on division winners, and I want you guys to experience this.”

“The greatest thrill and I would say the highlight of my career was winning that ’86 World Championship, especially in the manner in which we did. We won 108 regular season games and we just dominated the division…We know what happened in the World Series. Game 6 and the ball through Bill Buckner’s legs. How we came back from a 5-3 deficit with 2-outs in the bottom of the 10th inning.”

The NBA All-Star Game is Sunday in Orlando. Miami, Chicago and Oklahoma City seem poised to head into the All-Star break as the best teams in the league. Here’s what else is happening in the NBA:

Team on the Rise: San Antonio Spurs

After beating Utah, 106-102, on Monday night, San Antonio (23-9) has won 11 games in a row and leads the Southwest Division. Guard Tony Parker has been a force for the Spurs. He scored 34 points and dished out 14 assists against Toronto on Wednesday and added 30 more points and 10 more assists against the Clippers on Saturday. With Manu Ginobili and Tiago Splitter each out two weeks with injuries, San Antonio will need to get Parker help to continue to rise in the Western Conference.

Team on the Decline: Toronto Raptors

After suffering a Valentine’s Day defeat to the Knicks as a result of a last-second shot by Jeremy Lin, Toronto (9-23) lost to the Spurs and the lowly Bobcats during the week, stretching the Raptors’ losing skid to four games and eight of their last 10. Coach Dwane Casey needs to find a way for his team to improve its defense without putting the other team on the free throw line. Toronto has had eight players foul out this season, the highest total of any team.

Play of the Week: Ricky Rubio, Minnesota Timberwolves

Minnesota point guard Ricky Rubio is known for his no-look passes. This assist to Kevin Love against Houston last week is a fine example of Rubio at his best.

Player on the Rise: Nikola Pekovic, Minnesota Timberwolves

Center Nikola Pekovic has scored 18.6 points and grabbed 10.8 rebounds per game over his last six contests. Though he sprained his right ankle in the Timberwolves’ 103-101 overtime loss to Denver on Monday, Pekovic should return soon. When healthy, Pekovic is teaming with Kevin Love and Ricky Rubio to give Minnesota (16-17) a solid core of players to build into a playoff team.

Player on the Decline: Devin Harris, Utah Jazz

Utah (15-16) has lost seven of its last 10 games. In many of those losses, Devin Harris helped allow opposing point guards — like Houston’s Kyle Lowry, New York’s Jeremy Lin, San Antonio’s Tony Parker and more — to score 25 or more points and roll up big assist totals. Worse, Harris’ per game scoring average is down to 9.0 points this season. That’s four points off his career average and six points or more off his totals from the last three seasons.

Coach on the Hot Seat: Doug Collins, Philadelphia 76ers

Philadelphia (20-12) has lost three in-a-row and five of seven. While the 76ers have managed to stay competitive despite many front court injuries, their guard play has been awful at times. Coach Doug Collins’ team was the surprise of the league at one point, but now teams are adjusting. Collins must get Philadelphia back to winning with defense and taking better shots on offense.

Bizarre Stat of the Week: Ersan Ilyasova, Milwaukee Bucks

Milwaukee Bucks forward Ersan Ilyasova had 29 points and 25 rebounds in a 92-85 win over the New Jersey Nets on Sunday night. Both totals established new career highs for Ilyasova, who was drafted by the Bucks in 2005.

New York Knicks broadcaster Marv Albert may have been caught with his pants down a few years back, but Lakers’ radio and TV sportscaster John Ireland was caught doing something equally as embarrassing.

He was powdering his nose, his face and his hairline with reckless abandon on camera. Uneven skintone must be a cardinal sin for Ireland. Yeah, yeah, the camera adds 10 lbs. and with the HD technology, every wrinkle and/or blemish is magnified but Ireland cakes so much junk on his face you’d think he worked in special effects.

While watching him furiously layer on about two inches of makeup onto his face, with special, detailed concentration around the hairline is gut-busting, it’s his reaction to being caught applying more foundation than a drag queen is hilarious.

If he hadn’t applied so much cover up, we’d have seen the color drain from his face. His draw drops, his eyes narrow and embarrassment furrows in his brow. He doesn’t say a word, but his expression is one of “Oh s—.” Busted!

Every watering hole has one: the oddball character who’s strange.

We don’t mean ‘strange’ in that he reminisces about the days he enjoyed a good Zima, either. We mean strange, as in he’s just plain spooky. Here’s how you can tell if you’re that guy:

1. When you walk in, the music actually screeches to a stop.

2. When you sit down, the people nearby casually get up and move at least 25 feet away. It’s like you’ve single-handedly brought the cooties back.

3. No one can figure out why, but saliva is oozing out of your mouth like Cujo.

4. You’re asking people to sign your petition demanding the bar remain open on Christmas Day.

5. Whenever a woman walks in, you put your hands in your pocket.

6. You insist on the staff cheering “Norm!” every time you walk in.

7. You’re wearing a trenchcoat, even though it’s packed to the gills and 85 degrees.

8. You camped out waiting for the bar to open.

9. It’s 10 o’clock. In the morning.

10. Your drink of choice is Yoo-hoo.

11. You’re there everyday and they still haven’t named a drink after you yet.

12. You’re engaged in a very deep and intense conversation about how the government staged the moon landing — with yourself.

13. You’re trying to pick up two hot blondes that you don’t seem to realize is an old cardboard cutout of the Coors Light twins.

14. You cry when the bartender shouts, “Last call!”

After Sports Illustrated profiled Tamir Goodman in 1999, his life changed forever. Goodman had been dubbed ‘the Jewish Jordan’ for his amazing abilities on the basketball court. He also happened to be an Orthodox Jew, which dramatically altered his schedule.

Even though he accepted a scholarship to Maryland in his junior season, he had to regretfully inform coach Gary Williams he would not be able to attend because of his devotion to the Shabbat.

Goodman attended Towson University in Baltimore, but after a falling out with the coach he signed a professional contract in Israel in 2002. By then, most of the media circus that surrounded him in high school had subsided.

Thirteen years after he became a household name, I decided to catch up with the man once dubbed ‘the Jewish Jordan.’

A week after that article came out we had 700 media requests.
