Part of the fun attending an El Paso Chihuahuas home game at Southwest University Park is making a trip to their concession stands for a delicious meal. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to eat ballpark style food without going to a baseball game and instead have it delivered to your door?

Apparently Major League Baseball thought the same thing and they just released their new MLB Ballpark Bites for baseball fans to enjoy by either pickup or delivery.

How can you get a ball park meal?

The concept is being sponsored by Mastercard and is in collaboration with Virtual Dining Concepts. In addition to being able to order your ballpark meal on MLB.com/ballparkbites, you can also use Doordash, Postmates, and Uber Eats.

Can El Paso locals enjoy ballpark meals?

More good news. El Paso and Las Cruces are both included in the nearly 400 locations that are serving Ballpark Bites. In fact, when I went to MLB's El Paso location page, I was impressed. They included the Franklin Mountains, Plaza Theater, Mission Trail, and even the El Paso Museum of Art in their description of the city.

It is obvious that the MLB foodie team did their homework when customizing the landing page.

As for availability, MLB's Ballpark Bites is available at four local IHOP locations: 655 Sunland Park Drive, 6080 Gateway Boulevard East, 4500 Hondo Pass Drive, and 1341 George Dieter Drive. Las Cruces was not as lucky, since they just have a map with a location (another IHOP) but no city description.

What will the food consist of?

As for the food, they are serving up classics like the Ballpark Dog and Philly Cheesesteak, but then more exciting offerings like "The Heater", which features crispy all-natural chicken strips topped with hickory-smoked bacon, sautéed jalapeños, serrano peppers and onions & cheese sauce in a soft pretzel roll.

The LA Street Dog also looks like a popular choice, described as a grilled all-beef hot dog topped with hickory-smoked bacon, sautéed jalapeños, serrano peppers and onions, mayo, mustard & avocado in a soft pretzel roll.

There are other chicken creations and also a New York Steakhouse Sandwich. French fries and donut holes are also on the menu. This definitely looks like a meal my family and I will enjoy when watching a Major League Baseball game at the house.
