For years people have been telling me that I have to join a fantasy football league.  Overcome with curiosity, I knew the time had finally come to try it out.   This past weekend I completed my first fantasy football league draft through ESPN, and needless to say, it was really exciting!

I was a little nervous before the draft began, so the Iceman had to ask Sports Spin host Andy Lee how the fantasy draft works.  I even asked the Monster, my tag team partner on Crunctime what to do.  Once I got underway it was real simple.  The Iceman was given the last pick in the first round of the draft, but that meant that I had the first pick in the second round.

With Carolina QB Cam Newton available I couldn't pass up on the future super star who had one of the most remarkable rookie seasons in NFL history.  For my second pick I had to take a running back, so with Arian Foster and Ray Rice already chosen, I selected Bears RB Matt Forte.

For my 3rd pick I chose the Texans defense.  Some of my other draft choices included Niners tight end Vernon Davis, Tony Romo, Packers kicker Mason Crosby, Dez Bryant, Sam Bradford, and the Cowboys defense as well.  Overall, my first fantasy draft was a great experience, and I highly recommend that everyone try it out.  You better hurry though, the season will be here before you know it!
