UTEP women's basketball starting senior forward Lawna Kennedy has been an important part of the program for the past couple of seasons.  As a junior Kennedy led the team in field goal percentage with a mark of 43.7 percent.  The native of Fayetteville, Georgia averaged a double-double for two seasons with Atlanta Metropolitan College prior to her arrival at UTEP.  I recently sat down with Lawna and asked her a few questions.

1.  Talk about your time in El Paso.

"Everyone here is so supportive of our program, and they are very nice.  You feel like everyone knows you here."

2.  Talk about your best experience playing for UTEP thus far.

"The season we're having has been very memorable, last season was rough, this season has been the highlight of my playing career."

3.  Talk about playing in these tough road games with the team.

"It's exciting to play in these big games, Coach Adams does a great job researching these teams."

4.  What is it like to play for Coach Adams?

"It's great, her spirit is awesome, we have to match her intensity, she is our backbone."

5.  What is your favorite food?

"I love shrimp alfredo"
