Scheduled Road Construction And Closures For El Paso This Week

While the city is ecstatic the Border West Expressway is finally open, there is still quite a lot of construction happening on El Paso Roads. We've finally seen some of the major road projects coming to a close, and the improvements are making the commutes home better and better! Still, there are some projects that are just getting started or are getting the finishing touches. To make sure you're not stuck sitting in traffic due to construction on your commute, you've come to the right place. To find out what major freeway and road closures are happening this week, check out the list below.

I-10 Connect

Monday, February 15 (9 am - 5 pm)

The onramp from Gateway Boulevard North to northbound Interstate 110 at US 62 (Paisano Drive) will be closed to all traffic

Tuesday, February 16 (9 am - 5 pm)

Exit 23B, from westbound I-10 to US 62/180 (Paisano Drive), will be closed to all traffic

Wednesday, February 17 (9 am - 4 pm)

Exit 20, from westbound I-10 to Cotton Street, will be closed to all traffic.

Thursday, February 18 (9 pm to - 5 am)

Northbound US 54 will be closed to all traffic between Loop 375 and Yandell Drive.
Ramp T which connects Gateway Boulevard North to northbound US 54 will be closed to all traffic.
The onramp from Gateway Boulevard North to northbound Interstate 110 at US 62 (Paisano Drive) will be closed to all traffic.

East Area Closures

Loop 375 Frontage Road Project

Monday, Feb. 15 - Friday, Feb. 19 (7 am - 4 pm DAILY)

South Americas Avenue (frontage road) southbound to northbound turnaround will be blocked occasionally
South Americas Avenue southbound to northbound traffic will remain open and be flagged through work zone

Zaragoza/Montwood Improvement Project

Monday, Feb. 15 - Friday, Feb. 19 (7 am - 4 pm DAILY)

Montwood Drive westbound complete lane closure between Joe Battle Boulevard and Firehouse Drive
Traveling public will be shifted to eastbound lanes of roadway
New section of Zaragoza will be open at Joe Battle Boulevard southbound to Montwood Drive to relieve traffic congestion

Crews will be reconstructing placement of concrete panels

Montana Frontage Road Project

Tuesday, Feb. 16 (9 pm - 6 am OVERNIGHT)

Montana Avenue westbound complete closure between Saul Kleinfeld Drive to Lee Trevino Drive

Tuesday, Feb. 16 (9 pm - 6 am OVERNIGHT)

Montana Avenue eastbound closure between Lee Trevino Drive to Saul Kleinfeld Drive to include closure of intersections at Lee Trevino Drive, George Dieter Drive, Lee Boulevard and Saul Kleinfeld Drive and all turn arounds will be permanently closed

West Area Closures

Transmountain Project (UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE)

Transmountain west and eastbound between US-54 and Tom Mays State Park reduced to one lane in both directions. Bike lane closed.

Thursday, February 11 - Friday, February 12 (9 am - midnight)

Transmountain eastbound between Paseo del Norte and Gateway South at US-54 complete closure.
Loop 375 eastbound between Resler to Paseo del Norte left shoulder closed.
Loop 375 westbound between Tom Mays State Park to Resler left shoulder closed.
Loop 375 east and westbound alternate lane closures.

Saturday, February 13 (9 am - 10 pm)

• Transmountain eastbound between Paseo del Norte and Gateway South at US-54 complete closure.

Mesa Rehabilitation Project

Sunday, February 14 - Thursday, February 18 (9 pm - 5 am NIGHTLY)

Mesa northbound between Festival and Brentwood complete closure.

UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

Mesa northbound between Baltimore and Castellano reduced to one lane.
Mesa southbound between Festival and Brentwood reduced to one lane.

Bridge Maintenance Project

Sunday, February 14 - Thursday, February 18 (9 pm - 5 am NIGHTLY)

I-10 westbound at Piedras bridge complete closure.

Guardrail Repair Project

Monday, February 15 (9 am - 4 pm)

I-10 eastbound between Mesa and Sunland Park left lane closed.
I-10 eastbound between Yandell and Cotton/Dallas exit ramp right lane closed.

Tuesday, February 16

9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Loop 375 (Transmountain) eastbound at Kenworthy/Gateway South exit ramp complete closure.

Wednesday, February 17

9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Gateway South at Trowbridge on-ramp complete closure

Thursday, February 18

9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

I-10 westbound between Raynolds and Ramp A (I-10 west to US-54 north) right lane closed.

Friday, February 19

9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

I-10 westbound between Vinton turnaround and I-10 eastbound complete closure.

Miscellaneous Concrete

Tuesday, February 16 - Wednesday, February 17 (9 pm - 5 am NIGHTLY)

I-10 eastbound between Raynolds and Trowbridge left lane closed.
I-10 westbound from Geronimo and Paisano left lane closed.

Maintenance

Tuesday, February 16 - Friday, February 19 (9 am - 3 pm)

US-62/180 (Montana) eastbound between Geronimo and Airport left lane closed.
Loop 375 (Transmountain) northbound and US-54 entrance ramp closed.
Ramp J (US-54 north to I-10 east) closed.
