Lechuguilla Cave in New Mexico Rated as Longest Cave in the World

One of the longest caves in the world isn't too far from El Paso, Texas. In Eddy County, New Mexico is where you can find Lechuguilla Cave.

The Lechuguilla Cave is being praised, as of June, for being considered one of the longest caves in the world.

I don't doubt that one bit after watching a tour of the cave, recorded by Derek Bristol.

Lechuguilla Cave is in Eddy County, New Mexico which is about 189 miles away from El Paso, Texas. From El Paso the drive should take you about 3 hours and 15 minutes.

The only problem with this future adventure is Lechuguilla Cave is not open to the public. You can only access the cave if you're a researcher or scientific explorer then you may have access to it without a problem.

Lechuguilla Cave is considered one of the 8th longest caves in the world.

Not only is it considered the longest but also named the second deepest in the Continental United States., with a depth of 1,589 feet and has quite the views.

Some spelunkers (aka cave explorers) wandered around Lechuguilla Cave and took amazing pictures. Some of those pictures include a chandelier maze that is made of slenite crystals.

Besides crystals Lechuguilla Cave also contains Cave pearls that are located in the Pearlsian Gulf. It is no wonder that Lechuguilla Cave is popular for its intact condition, abnormal geology, and it's few and far between formations.

It's pretty neat that one of the longest caves in the world isn't that far from El Paso.
