The Daily Meal compiled a list of what each state is looking for when they are searching for desserts. See what Texas and New Mexico are loving. While we're all stuck at home during quarantine, a lot of people found themselves starting new hobbies and trying to find new ways to pass the time. One of those new hobbies a lot of people picked up was baking. It seemed like all you saw all over your news feed was people baking bread, cakes, and other scrumptious recipes of both the sweet and savory type. Because Americans were looking up new recipes, our search engines found people in different regions around the country were looking up recipes not typical for their community. The Daily Meal decided to look at various search engines to see just what was the most searched dessert item in each state. The answers were pretty shocking across the board. It looks like everyone was willing to try something new, with many desserts being unconventional.

In the Land of Enchantment, New Mexico residents were searching for recipes on how to make Yorkshire pudding. In another list, we saw New Mexico list Frito Pie as their most iconic pie, so it's no surprise they chose another savory dish instead of sweet. Yorkshire pudding is a baked English side dish that can be made with a variety of ingredients. The main ingredients are flour, salt, eggs, and milk, but you can throw in some mashed potatoes, meat, or anything else and make it an entire meal.

In the Lone Star state, Texans were searching for recipes on how to make homemade ice cream. Plenty of stores were selling ice cream machines and the process of making your own ice cream is actually pretty simple. Grab a machine, the ingredients, and simply use your imagination and you have everything you need to wow guests with your homemade concoctions.
