We're already at the midway point for high school football across the borderland, and contrary to last week's full slate of games, there is only a handful of games set for this week across the Sun City.

Here are the games set for tonight:

Andress (3-2, 1-0) @ Burges (2-1-1) YMCA Game of the Week

Here's an extremely early matchup for a possible district championship in District 5A-2. Andress is starting to find their stride under quarterback Jeremeiah Tosky, who replaced senior quarterback Dominque Smith after his season-ending injury. But Burges is powerful this year, riding running back Robert Hall to the fullest. Hall has chipped in with 443 yards on the ground and nine rushing touchdowns.

This one could get interesting, especially if special teams is a factor. Last week, there were three turnovers on special teams between Austin and Andress, so it'll be interesting to see where the two teams stack up when this is done.
El Paso (3-2, 1-0) @ Irvin (4-1, 1-0)

Irvin is vying for playoff contention, while El Paso is looking for some consistency in this one. Irvin's lone loss came earlier this year to Ysleta (37-24), who is 5-0 to start the year. El Paso High is coming off a big win against Bowie last week (31-20), and wants to get their first consecutive win of the season.

Jefferson (0-5, 0-1)@Austin (3-2, 0-1)

This one could get ugly quick, as Jefferson has been off to a tough, winless start, while Austin has been powerful defensively all season. If Austin can generate some offense early, which they had trouble doing last week in their loss to Andress (30-12), they can put this one away early on. But if their offense isn't on, Jefferson could easily make this a game.

Other games across the city:

Lubbock Estacado (3-2) @ Clint (1-4)
Mountain View (3-2) @ Anthony (2-3)
San Elizario (3-2) @ Tornillo (0-6)
Roswell (4-1) @ Cathedral (0-3)
