El Pasoans who are planning a family outing this Spring Break should request day passes and reserve campsites now.

Texas State Parks recommends that families planning a nature getaway should begin reserving day passes and campsites ahead of Spring Break because space is limited and reservations are filling fast.

With Spring Break just around the corner, El Pasoans eager to get out of town for either a day or weekend trip should make a reservation to secure their spot now.

Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is giving El Pasoans the heads up as many popular parks, especially those in Central Texas, are already seeing a high volume of reservations for Spring Break and the upcoming summer months.

Families hoping to get some fresh air and take in the wonder of nature are encouraged to make reservations for daily use and overnight reservations at parks such as Big Bend, Inks Lake, Pedernales Falls, Guadalupe River, Mother Neff, and Enchanted Rock state parks.

Families can also avoid the large Spring Break crowds by exploring state parks such as Goose Island, San Angelo, Lake Somerville, and Sea Rim, which offer day-use and overnight reservations for the upcoming spring and summer season.

As the pandemic wears on, Texas State Parks are operating at a limited capacity. So, friends and families planning to hit the trails for a day trip at any park should also reserve day passes in advance, to be on the safe side, as many parks reach capacity limits daily.

  • Visitors can purchase day passes up to one month in advance, guaranteeing access to parks even during busy times.
  • To purchase a day pass or to reserve a campsite, visit the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department website or call 512-389-8900.

COVID-19
