600 ESPN El Paso announced today that it would extend its partnership with the El Paso Rhinos junior hockey team for the 2012-13 season. The new agreement will include select home and road games that will be broadcast on 600 ESPN El Paso.

“We are very excited to partner again with ESPN 600 El Paso,” Rhinos head coach Cory Herman said. ”We had a great response last year from players, parents, and fans. This gives us a great amount of exposure in El Paso and gives our fans an opportunity to listen to some of our home and away games.”

The Rhinos are the only local sports team broadcast on 600 ESPN El Paso, which also includes the Dallas Cowboys Football Network, the Texas Longhorn Football Network, local coverage of Friday Night High School Football, the NCAA Basketball Tournament, and Los Angeles Dodgers baseball. In addition to the home and road broadcasts, Herman will join Sportstalk throughout the season to talk Rhinos hockey.

“We are happy to be partnering one again this season with the most successful sports franchise in El Paso,” 600 ESPN El Paso Operations Manager Kevin Vargas said. “Over the last 6 years, no sports team in town has achieved the level of success like the Rhinos, and their fan base is one of the strongest in all of junior hockey. Head Coach Cory Herman has developed a reputation of having one of the best development programs in the country. I can’t wait for the first drop of the puck to the 2012-13 season. The Rhinos are an integral part of our 600 ESPN El Paso family.”

600 ESPN El Paso will release the Rhinos broadcast schedule in the next week. For more information, visit elpasorhinos.com.
