Early Giving Starts For EP Giving Day, Here’s How To Help

El Paso Giving Day is Thursday, October 15 this year but due to the pandemic, they're kicking off the donations early this year. Founded in 2016, El Paso Giving Day is a day for people in our community to come together and donate to some of the great local non-profits that you know and love. Times have been hard for non-profits this year due to the pandemic and donations have been down. People tend to get into the holiday spirit and from this time until the end of the year donations to non-profits increase. To help bolster these donation numbers, El Paso Giving Day works to help bring awareness to many of the great local charities you can help.

El Paso Giving Day was established in 2016 through the Paso del Norte Community Foundation to "ignite the spirit of giving to support causes in the community where we live, work, and play." Since its inception, El Paso Giving Day as raised over four million dollars to help out over 200 different nonprofits. Thousands of donors have participated in El Paso Giving Day and even though this year's celebration will be different due to the pandemic, organizers are hoping people will still open their hearts and their wallets to others in need.

From October 8th -  October 14th, Early Giving is happening for El Paso Giving Day. You can donate to any of the participating non-profits and charities through the El Paso Giving Day website. To see the list of participating organizations please visit the website. El Paso Giving Day is on October 15th and on that day, Walmart will be matching online check or credit card donations up to $300,000. Donations must be made from 12:01 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on October 15. Nonprofits participating in EP Giving Day can receive up to $10,000 in matching funds through the El Paso Giving Day website as matching funds continue to be available.

El Paso Giving Day will also include incentive prizes so your donation can help your favorite organization win extra money for their cause. Prize money ranges from $200 all the way up to $1,000! You can see some of the ways they can win through the website.

If you would like to donate throughout Early Donation week or on El Paso Giving Day you can visit the website to find the organization of your choice. Donors can also mail or drop off donations at the Paso del Norte Community Foundation office, located at 221 North Kansas Street, Suite 1900, El Paso, Texas 79901. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am. to 5:00 p.m. Donations mailed or dropped off in-person are not eligibe for the Walmart matching funds or prizes.
