It has been a crazy 24 hours for the UTEP men's basketball program. The team lost to Murray State in the first round of the NIT Tournament last night by a final score of 81-66. During the game, UTEP Associate Athletic Director Jeff Darby became involved in a Twitter controversy with the team's best player, Vince Hunter, that made national headlines. The loss ended a roller coaster season for the Miners, who failed to make the NCAA Tournament for the five straight year under head coach Tim Floyd. Meanwhile, Hunter is contemplating his future and he will soon decide whether or not he will stay with the program and play his junior season or turn pro. UTEP Director of Athletics Bob Stull joined Sportstalk this evening to discuss all of these topics in a 20-minute phone interview.
