The frustrating 2014-15 UTEP men's basketball season ended mercifully tonight in Murray, Kentucky. The Miners were blown out by the Murray State Racers 81-66 in the first round of the NIT, but the big story did not involve the team's lackluster play on the court. Instead, it centered around the school's official Twitter account, which blasted UTEP star Vince Hunter during tonight's game.

A little more than an hour later, UTEP's official Twitter account was back with another mind-boggling attack on the Miners sophomore star, whose basketball skills has led many analysts to project Hunter as a future NBA player.

The entire timeline of UTEP's tweets tonight during the Murray State game seemed overly critical of Hunter. Even if they know something that we do not, for example, like Vince Hunter will not return to the Miners next season, it still is incomprehensible to attack your star player on social media. Suddenly, a disappointing UTEP basketball season became a little more interesting this offseason.
