For people living in the Miami area, file this story under the "what the heck are you thinking" category.

I'm sure we will have video up soon from the Mavericks' victory parade in downtown Dallas. Before that happens, here is a little flashback to last summer's preseason party that Miami threw for their big 3.

We are nearly a year removed from the decision, and the Miami Heat have as many rings as they did last summer.  As easy as it would be to pick at all the flaws in Miami's game, Dallas was just the better TEAM.  I was one of those people who believed 3 superstars and 'C' players would defeat 1 superstar and 'B' players.

Now that it is all over, basketball fans will look back at the 2011 NBA Finals and remember this as a colossal failure for the Miami Heat. I would rather look back at a fantastic run for the Dallas Mavericks and a well deserved title for the first time in franchise history.

As a fan last night in Dallas for Game 3 of the NBA Finals, almost everyone inside American Airlines Center believed that Dirk Nowitzki would take the last shot of the game and tie the score at 88. Instead of overtime, it was heartbreak for Mavericks fans.

On Friday, I was in the middle of hosting Sportstalk when I received a phone call with an offer I could not refuse. One of my friends had an extra ticket to Sunday's Game 3 of the NBA Finals and asked me if I would be interested in joining them.

If memory serves me correct the Heat wouldn't contend for a title in year one of the 'three am-ego' era because they lacked chemistry, a strong interior presence, and adequate role players.

No, filling out an NBA bracket is not quite as fun as the NCAA Tournament but here it goes!!!
