Julian Edelman Cordially Invites You to Get Ready for ‘Star Pats’

Ever since that new Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer premiered, people can't seem to stop talking about it. There have been reaction videos, mash-ups and more but now New England Patriots wide receiver, and creator of hilarious Patriots-related videos, has decided to combine footage of his team and the new Star Wars trailer for fans to get ready for September: 'Star Pats: A New Season'!

Edelman, ever the content creator and pop culture enthusiast, clearly wants this video to have an impact for the New England Patriots fans. It's actually all really well edited and put together starting with some fantastic shots of Gillette Stadium (set to the iconic John Williams score from the original trilogy), followed by perhaps one of the most brilliant things Edelman does-- I won't spoil it here but let's just say is connecting members of the team to Star Wars characters-- and you gotta give him credit for clearly having a self aware sense of humor. One of the coolest things about this mash up is just watching all of these amazing shots of the Patriots in action set to the Star Wars score and inter cut with footage of the actual trailer. Even if you're not a fan of the Patriots this is still an awesome mash up. And if you are a Patriots fan then this trailer must be some sort of nirvana moment that will make you anxiously hope that the new season gets here early.

Also, Edelman is clearly a fan of Star Wars and it shows (A New Season, a clear nod to A New Hope). You gotta love that he also thought of a very Star Wars-y tagline for the video mash-up but, as he puts it, at least we know that he has confidence in the team: "The Force is strong with this team."
