What Are The Rules For Jumping Balloons At El Paso Parks?

Summer in El Paso means going to parks with the kiddos and the familia. It can also mean birthday parties with jumping balloons, but are brinca brincas legal in El Paso parks? I checked out the El Paso Parks and Recreation website for some answers and got answers to questions I didn't even think of. If you are planning a party at a City park, you need to get a permit if the party is for 50 or more people. The permit is $54 and you'll have to get it in these instances even if your party isn't for 50 or more people:

1. Portable restrooms - No matter how many people are at your party at the park, if you have a porta potty, you need the $54 permit. The porta potty rental company will also need proof of liability insurance which names the city of El Paso Parks and Recreation Department as an additional insurer.

2. Amplification - If you have a loudspeaker, amplifier, public address system or any other artificial sound system, you'll need the $54 permit and a $15 amplification permit.

3. Amusement devices - If you plan on having a jumping balloon, moonwalks, dragons, or "similar apparatus", the rental company has to have proof of liability insurance which names the City of El Paso Parks and Recreation Department as an additional insurer.

If you want to have a party at the park, you need to make reservations to do so in person at the parks administration office at 801 Texas Avenue. There are no online reservations.
