Big Changes In Store For Northeast El Paso Park Include Dog Park
Visitors to one of the larger parks in Northeast El Paso will soon have some new amenities to enjoy while they are there.
Joey Barraza and Vino Memorial Park is located at 11270 McCombs in far Northeast El Paso, not too far away from the intersection of McCombs and US - 54. East of Cooperstown and north of Northtowne Village. (You can see a map here)
The park already has several athletic fields and a skate park and Saturday, the City of El Paso's Park and Recreation Department will officially show off the new things that the park will have.
According to our news partners at KVIA, the new additions to Joey Barraza and Vino Memorial Park will include a dog park, some flat fields and a new, "all amenities" playground.
The park was named after a Border Patrol Agent who died in 2016. According to KVIA, Jose “Joey” Barraza died in a crash involving an 18-wheeler and his truck. The 29-year-old was assigned to the Sierra Blanca station of the Border Patrol’s Big Bend Sector. - KVIA
The ribbon-cutting ceremony for all the new things at Joey Barraza and Vino Memorial Park will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 4, at 11270 McCombs.
There will be booths, a yoga session and the event will absolutely be pet friendly.
