Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular Returning to Wet ‘n Wild Water World
Wet 'N Wild Water World is going to light it up this Fourth of July.
Because of the coronavirus pandemic, the 4th was a bit of a dud last year as most annual public fireworks displays were cancelled to conform with the health mandates and guidelines that were in place at the time; the annual celebration at Wet 'N Wild included.
But this year, with more of us making the choice to get vaccinated and things continuing to trend in the right direction, El Paso’s homegrown water park is bringing back the fireworks spectacular.
Plans call for a full day of swimming, splashing, and grilling beginning at 10 a.m. on Sunday, July 4, with a fireworks finale not long after the park closes for the evening.
The fireworks show will begin at around 9 p.m. and last 15 - 20 minutes, according to Chandra Edwards-Cottingham, President of Wet 'n' Wild Water World. The fireworks will be accompanied by music broadcast over the radio on KLAQ, 93.1 KISS-FM’s sister station.
Chandra suggests park goers and fireworks enthusiasts can scope out the show best from the Wet ‘N Wild parking lot. Other popular spots, she tells me, are off Wild Cat Road or by the Don Carbon off Anthony Exit 0.

As hot as it has been lately, and with the holiday being observed officially on Monday, July 5 -- meaning many are getting or making a three-day weekend out of it -- the water park is going to be a very popular place to be on the July 4. So, it’s a good idea to get tickets and reserve picnic tables and grills and cabanas in advance.
