UTEP women's basketball leading scorer Jenzel Nash has been lighting it up this season averaging 13.2 points per game, and 5.7 rebounds per contest as well.  Her explosive play and ability to score from the perimeter and in the paint has made her a vital asset for the 21-2 Miners.  Nash plays extremely hard on both sides of the ball, and her pure talent and athleticism makes her quite entertaining to watch.  I sat down with Jenzel yesterday en route to Hattiesburg, MS and asked her a few questions.

1.  What is it like playing for such a great team?

"It's fun, very fun, my teammates and I have good team chemistry, we're winning and it feels great."

2.  Talk about your performance this season.

"I just want to perform better than the last time I played.  I want to improve on passing, scoring, rebounding, assists and every stat in general.  I'd also like to be more of a vocal leader."

3.  Talk about your most memorable experience thus far playing for UTEP.

"Winning the C-USA tournament in Memphis in 2012 was incredible!  We all played great together, after we won the tournament we were singing and dancing on Beale street, and right after that we left for the NCAA tournament.

4.  Talk about this challenging southern road trip to Southern Miss and Louisiana Tech.

"Southern Miss hasn't lost a game at home so it will be a tough environment.  You can't just come into their place and take a win on their home court without fighting for it.  As for LA Tech, we have to come out and play hard and defend better than we did against them at home."

5.  What is your favorite kind of food?

"Cornbread and collard greens."

6.  What is it like to play for Coach Adams?

"She's a great coach and we work well together, I fit into the program so well, and enjoy the way she coaches.  I like the way she runs her offense and her defense.  She likes to win like me."
