After going ahead 14-7, the UTEP football team was outscored by Charlotte 24-0 until they scored a pair of late touchdowns in Saturday's 38-28 loss.

The Miners raced off to an early 24-0 halftime lead and never looked back, ending with a 31-6 victory over the Lousiana-Monroe to start off the season 3-1 for the first time since 2010.

Although the UTEP football team did not dominate either Stephen F. Austin or Abilene Christian, they were victorious in both games in similar fashion.

The Miners (2-1) shook off early struggles and hung on to beat Abilene Christian (0-1) 17-13 in front of 6,059 fans at the Sun Bowl on Saturday.
