If you like to go off-roading, you'll be happy to know that a popular Fabens trail is finally being upgraded!

The city and county of El Paso just got a $400,000 grant to fix up the San Felipe Park trail near Fabens..

The $400,000 grant for the San Felipe Park OHV Trails, located halfway between Cattleman’s Steakhouse and I-10, just north of Fabens, will fund the first major upgrades to the park in several years.

The project includes ten new miles of five-foot-wide OHV trail, youth rider’s .25 mile trail, new ADA-compliant restrooms, picnic shelters, signage and fencing. - El Paso Herald Post

A total of 22 trails across Texas are getting upgrades, to read more about some of the others, click here. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department are the ones behind these projects and, in addition to funds generated by gasoline taxes and such, came up with $700,000 EXTRA dollars from projects that were canceled or came in under budget.

See Texas politicians??  It IS possible to save money and be under budget...just sayin'.
