Good News: The Juarez Prison Cat Has Found A New Place To Call Home
If you had planned on applying to adopt the notorious Juarez prison cat, you’re out of luck. According to Juarez city officials, the cat has already been adopted by a family who already has a cat of the same breed.
According to César Díaz Gutiérrez, The head of the Ecology Department, they received a handful of adoption applications, with only one being from Ciudad Juárez.
Other applications came from Texas, Connecticut, Maryland, and New Jersey.
Those in charge of reviewing the adoption applications took into consideration whether or not the applicants had the ability to care for the cat properly because of its necessary medical requirements.
All those who applied to adopt the Egyptian breed cat already had an animal of this breed, according to Juarez officials, so this helped with the decision-making because reviewers knew that the cat would be going to a good home once adopted.
Who is the owner of this notorious C-A-T?
Well, if you expect to get a name and exact location, don’t hold your breath because officials are going to keep the identity of the new owner confidential, and…. do you blame them?!
The cat was found in a Juarez prison with a gang tattoo and was allegedly previously owned by a cartel member. So, yeah, I probably wouldn’t want any gang member knowing I have their cat!
However, Juarez officials did mention that the owners are from the Texas area.
I’m just happy this cat is going to be able to live a happy life with new owners that will give it the love and attention it deserves.
But, if I’m being honest, I would really like to know what they end up naming him. And if the new owners need some name ideas, the people of El Paso have a few good ideas, but my favorite name suggestion has to be "Pelon the Felon.”
