My Top 3 Steak Places Around El Paso

We’re coming up on National Steak Month in June, and there are a LOT of places in El Paso that do a great steak.

My number one is Corralito’s. Nothing else comes close to their  Arrachera 10-ounce medium-rare. It’s not the most expensive cut on the menu, but it is SO GOOD; it’s all I ever order. Their ribeye and T-bone may be great, but I wouldn’t know because the Arrachera is just that f***ing good!

I’m a Westsider, so my list will lean heavily toward that side of the city. They do have Corralitos on Airway. I haven’t eaten there, but I assume the Arrachera is just as good.

Also, I don’t go out for steak all that often. That’s only because I grill so continually (usually a ribeye on a super-hot flame, 90 seconds on each side and done) that I'm ready for a change when I go out to a good restaurant.

So, I might be the biggest steak fan in town, but I’m far from the most extensive expert. Maybe some foodies can fill me in on who you think has the best cow in the city.

HERE ARE MY TOP 3:

1.)    Corralito’s

That Arrachera steak would make a good run for “Best I’ve ever had, ANYWHERE.”

2.)    Edge Of Texas

I love how marbled their meat is. “Marbled” is what you call a cut of meat when you don’t want to use the word “fatty.”  Their ribeyes are VERY marbled, which equals very delicious. Treat yourself! It won’t kill you, and it would be worth it even if it did.

3.)    Cattleman’s At Indian Cliffs Ranch

As much as the food, Cattleman’s is an experience. For starters, it’s all the way out in the middle of nowhere, about a 45-minute drive from downtown. It’s a working cattle ranch with a miniature zoo, a rattlesnake habitat, and hayrides to see movie sets. It does feel like you’re going on an adventure when you go to Cattleman’s. Unlike most “gimmicky” joints (see Casa Bonita in Denver and Big Texan in Amarillo), the food doesn’t take a back seat to the attractions. It’s as delicious as it is fun. I’m going to recommend the T-bone on this one.

Can anybody tell me if it’s that great? We’ve had one for a few years at the Fountains of Farah, but I haven’t gone yet. The ads they used to run in American Airlines’ in-flight magazine always LOOKED very delicious, though.
