The NBA basketball playoffs are in middle of the second round and while we are being entertained by one series in particular which is San Antonio/Golden State, the rest have been surprising but not in a good way.

Here are some quick observations on the teams still in the playoffs.

NY Knicks Vs Indiana Pacers

The Pacers are up 3-1 and will close the series in a couple of days.

NY needs to learn that you need to play as a “team” not just relying on your superstar to do everything.  How about actually running some plays.

For the Pacers, they are the classic example that a team that actually plays together can be more effective than one or two superstars.  Oh, and they play great defense.

San Antonio Spurs vs Golden State Warriors

The Spurs are up 3-2 on the young Warriors, but I still think that this series is going to go 7 games.

If Stephen Curry can get healthy and Thomson can make some shots then they have a chance.  The Spurs aren’t going to panic if they lose game 6 because the core of this team has a couple of rings.

Memphis Grizzlies vs Oklahoma City Thunder

Memphis has been more physical and more aggressive than OKC. Clearly, Kevin Durant can’t do it all. Without Westbrook by his side there is no way the Thunder are going to come back and win this series.

On a side note…why do we give Durant a pass when he can’t lead his team to win a series.  If this was happening to Lebron James the media would be having a field day saying that James cant propel his team to the next level.  Think of a the scrutiny he faced until he won the title last year.

So why does Durant get the pass?

Chicago Bulls vs Miami Heat

We all know that Miami is more than likely going to win back to back titles.  Simply put, they’ve had one bad game so far...one that’s it.  They dominate when they want to.  I think Chicago woke up a sleeping giant by winning game 1.

Speaking of Chicago, this team has so much heart.  Their injuries finally caught up with them.  I commend them for how far they got into the playoffs.

To bad I can’t say the same about their supposed superstar and leader Derrick Rose. Rose has been medically cleared to play since before the end of the regular season.  He could have easily come back by playing 5 min in one game and then increasing them for the next couple of games.

If he never intended to play THEN HE SHOULDN’T BE TAKING SHOTS AT THE SHOOT AROUND IN HIS GEAR WITH THE REST OF HIS TEAMATES 2 HOURS BEFORE A GAME!

It just makes him look bad! His teammates are battling injuries and illness and they’ve given it their all this year.  Can the same be said about Rose.  I wonder what the rest of the Bulls really think because we all know that publicly they’re going to say the right thing.

You think the Black Mamba or the King would sit out? I didn’t think so.
