No one sets out to ruin their lives and the lives of others when they go out for a night of holiday drinking. A lack of planning once you decide to go out could be a big reason why.

According to a recent Forbes article, in November and December, nearly 30% of all fatal car crashes involved someone getting behind the wheel impaired in some way. They compared all 50 states on many criteria.

Texas didn't take the top spot, as that goes to Montana. The state with the lowest drinking and driving numbers is New Jersey.

Texas Ranked 2nd Worst For Drunk Drivers Involved In Fatal Accidents

Here in the Lone Star State, we are second worst for fatal crashes involving drunk divers at 8.30 per 100,000 licensed drivers. 42.37% of traffic deaths in our state are caused by drunk drivers.

We also came in at 3rd worst for drunk drivers under the age of 21 involved in a fatal crash at almost 1 per 100K drivers on the road. This is a very sad statistic for our young adults in Texas.
