I Thought This Former Events Center Was a Church- I Was Wrong

Welcome back to my series of "places I used to hang out at that are now a a church" in El Paso. This one is quite a doozy because as it turns out, I was wrong!

If you missed the previous ones of this series, I've already done the one of a Northeast favorite turned into a church and how a popular strip joint is also now a church! And today I bring you one more for the series-well kind of.

With this final one, though, I did make a mistake. See, the venue that I was going to talk about was Buchanan's Event Center on Pellicano, but as I began to write this article, it was brought to my attention that, although Buchanan's is closed down, it's not a church!

Now, either I had way too much fun at Buchanan's Event Center that I've never really focused on its location, or, I just completely didn't notice the difference.

The venue that I had originally thought Buchanan's was located at is now a church challed Cantico Nuevo. The address is 11530 Pellicano Dr. And when I passed by it, I completely thought it was the old Buchanan's building- apparently it's not.

Buchanan's Event Center address is 11540 Pellicano- which is right next door, or around the corner- I really can't seem to figure out how they're placed.

For the past few weeks that I was writing these articles on "places that I used to hang out at that are now a church" I kept telling people at work that Buchanan's Event Center was now a church! I was wrong and I apologize for spreading misinformation!

Buchanan's Event Center closed down in 2017- and let's just say that before its closure I had some great times there- which is probably why in broad daylight I didn't even realize that the church wasn't the original venue! Apologies once again.
