Easter is right around the corner and for many young kids, getting an Easter basket from the Easter bunny or family members is something they look forward to.

However, for some families being able to afford a special Easter basket for their kids is sometimes a struggle. Well, the local non-profit organization, El Paso Sun City Pride, is hoping to take that burden off of parent's shoulders this weekend with their FREE Easter Basket Drive.

“Bring the kiddos over to Memorial Park this Sunday for our Easter Basket Drive,” read a post shared on the organization’s Instagram page.

The organization held a month-long donation drive to collect Easter baskets that will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Organizations like Los Chuco Bearz donated personally made baskets.

The event is free and open to the public. Families who want to head out to the event are encouraged to head out to Memorial Park located in central El Paso at 1701 N. Copia St.

According to a post on the organizations Instagram page, the pick up and drive off basket drive will begin at the intersection of the 1600 block of Copia and Luna, eastbound.

The Pickup & Drive Off Easter Basket event will take place on Sunday, April 17th beginning at 9 a.m.

This is a first-come, first-serve drive-thru event so get there early to make sure you get a special Easter basket!
