Mija, Yes you can dress for success! That is the motivation behind the Mija Project’s Professional Closet.

Having that perfect outfit for any job interview is key when you are trying to land a new job and the local non-profit organization understands that sometimes women do not have the funds to buy that perfect outfit for an interview or any other professional event.

“Feeling confident during a job interview is important and sometimes women can’t afford a full outfit,” said Sarah Zambrano, Head of Operational volunteers for Mija, Yes You Can. “If we can provide that outfit for free and take that burden off of someone’s shoulders to ensure they feel confident, then we’re doing our job!”

Mija, Yes You Can., aims at providing resources for women in our community. This Professional Closet has been in the works for a year. Last March, Charter Spectrum’s Residential Inbound Sales Call Center employees donated 124 pieces of professional attire to the organization to help them begin the Professional Closet.

After I myself made the switch from TV news to radio my work attire changed, too. My on-air dresses and professional work attire were just hanging out in my closet and not being used, so making the decision to donate all of those outfits to this closet was a win-win situation!

This Professional Closet by Mija, Yes You Can., will provide women with one FREE outfit that they can use for job interviews or any other professional setting.

“The closet aims to serve as a come-and-go donation center for women in need of professional clothing for job interviews or business dress codes at work,” Bianca Cervantes, Mija Communications Coordinator, shared.

The mobile closet will be available for the public at limited events across the community. Mija's are limited to one complete business professional outfit per visit.

All clothes provided have been professionally dry cleaned or machine washed by the donors. However, the organization strongly recommends washing each outfit before using them.

The mobile closet’s first event will be taking place Saturday, April 2nd at the El Paso Leadership Luncheon and Seminar hosted by Pioneers 21.

The seminar is free and open to the public. Organizers strongly recommend that guests register before the event. You can register by Clicking Here.

“We will have a variety of professional attire on hand. Sizes are limited at the moment, so we encourage people who would like to donate their business attire to do so to ensure that we are able to provide women of all shapes and sizes with professional clothing,” said Zambrano.

The organization will be accepting limited clothing donations for their closet throughout the year.

Clothing donated must either be dry cleaned or washed before they are donated. All sizes are encouraged and welcomed. Donors will receive no compensation for their clothing donations.
