Become A Sponsor For The Mija Project’s 3rd Annual ‘Mija Market’
Women’s History month is slowly creeping up and The local non-profit organization ‘Mija, Yes you can’ is gearing up to celebrate women-owned businesses with their 3rd Annual ‘Mija Market.’
“Every year our market gets bigger and better so this year we are hoping to make the market even bigger than last year,” said organization officials.
The ‘Mija Market’ will feature over 20 women-owned vendors, making it the largest women-owned business market in the area.
For the second year in a row, The Mija Market will be held at Chuco Relic which is located in Central El Paso. Guests can enjoy a variety of local vendors, food trucks, music, and raffles every 20 minutes.
“The Mija Project is all about supporting women-owned businesses,” said organization officials. “Instead of charging our vendors a fee to set up a booth we ask them for a donation of items they sell so we can raffle those off to guests in hopes of helping them get their products in the hands of someone who may not be familiar with their business."
Every year the organization collects items to donate to another local non-profit organization that is in need of certain donations.
Last year the organization collected feminine hygiene products and donated them to local schools to allow teachers to provide these products to women, free of charge.
This year the organization will be collecting feminine hygiene products to donate to HERPantry, a local non-profit organization that helps underserved families in El Paso access children's diapers, infant formula and period products.
