Scenic Sunday allows active El Pasoans access to Scenic Drive without having to compete for the road with vehicle traffic.

Beginning this month, anyone who wants to walk, run, bicycle or skateboard while enjoying the panoramic views Scenic Drive has to offer -- maybe even one of our majestic sunrises if you get there early enough -- will have to do it an hour earlier.

Cars are not allowed on the road from Wheeling to the Rim Road-Robinson entrance during those four hours of the morning every Sunday from now through September.

Notable not just for its majestic view, but for being one of the very few spots in the United States from where you can you see two countries and three states, Scenic Drive offers arguably one of the most beautiful perspectives of El Paso's landscape.

It’s a great place to watch a sunrise or a sunset -- and it’s not a bad make out spot either. It's easy to see why it is one of El Paso's favorite locations. Take a video tour and learn about the lookout point from this 2015 Only in El Paso episode.
