This downtown El Paso spot is known for its great views of San Jacinto and we've missed seeing them with their doors open the past year. There are plenty of new bars and restaurants that have been popping up around El Paso, and especially in the downtown area.

During Winterfest, downtown El Paso is covered in glittering, bright lights to celebrate the holiday season. On the first night of Winterfest, thousands of El Pasoans flock to San Jacinto Plaza to enjoy the eats, drinks and see the moment the holiday lights are turned on for the first time. One of the best views of Winterfest is from the rooftop bar at International, the water hole right in the heart of San Jacinto Plaza. Sadly, those beautiful views haven't been enjoyed for quite some time but now the owners are excited to have their loyal customers back for a drink.

The International closed back in February 2021 for some renovations according to the business' Instagram page. From then, there wasn't much known about when the bar would be reopening for the public. Many events were slow to return to the Sun City and some businesses sadly didn't survive the pandemic, so fans of International were worried the bar wouldn't reopen at all.

On Monday, a statement was posted on Instagram saying they would reopen this weekend. This Saturday, December 18th International will have its grand re-opening celebration. Head down to San Jacinto Plaza to enjoy the view of the Winterfest lights from International's spectacular rooftop bar. The International is located at 114 E. Mills Avenue in San Jacinto Plaza.
