Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers have not been able to follow-up their Super Bowl season with the same success in 2016. The team is just 6-9 this year and they are last in the NFC South. Despite their disappointing play on the field, Newton is still making dreams come true off the field.

Taylor Deckard is a 10-year old boy who was diagnosed three weeks ago with advanced pulmonary hypertension. He is about to undergo a surgical procedure to help address his severe heart condition. His only Christmas wish was to meet Newton, his favorite football player. When the 27-year old quarterback heard about this, he chartered a flight on his day off to Atlanta to surprise the young boy.

As you can see from the video, Deckard who is wearing Newton's #2 Auburn jersey, immediately embraced his hero and wouldn't let go. It is hard not to tear up when watching the two share that special moment and realize how a star athlete like Newton can make a huge difference in the lives of young people.
