Jeff Francoeur went 3-for-4 with an RBI in the El Paso Chihuahuas 7-4 win over the Colorado Springs Sky Sox Tuesday night at Security Service Field. The Chihuahuas have won all three games in Colorado Springs and have taken six of their last eight games.
Jace Peterson beat out an infield hit with two away in the third to bring home a run and prolong the inning. Later in the frame, Francoeur hit an RBI single off his former Atlanta Braves teammate Jair Jurrjens. Leading 2-1, the Chihuahuas brought home four runs in the sixth inning. The rally included two hits and was assisted by two Colorado Springs’ errors.
Joe Wieland allowed two runs in 6.1 innings and was succeeded by scoreless outings from Stephen Kohlscheen and Donn Roach. Cody Decker was 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs in the win. Decker has homered in back-to-back games and three times in the first seven games of the current road trip.
The play of the game came in the sixth inning when pitcher Joe Wieland came to the plate with two on.
