More than 30,000 fans filled the Sun Bowl stadium to watch the UTEP Miners and UTSA Roadrunners clash in each's team's first C-USA game. The Miners had a 10-7 lead, before the Roadrunners scored 18 straight second quarter points. UTSA never looked back and handed UTEP their second loss of the season by a final score of 32-13...

The UTEP Women's Basketball team played their final home game of the 2011-12 season Sunday afternoon on Senior Day against Rice.

On Sunday afternoon, the Miners met the UCF Knights in a C-USA league game. UTEP avenged last season's last-second buzzer beater loss to UCF with a 68-39 thrashing of the Knights.

On Saturday night, January 14th, UTEP hosted SMU in a C-USA Men's Basketball game. The Miners and Mustangs went into overtime before UTEP won the game 70-64 to even their record at 9-9.

On Wednesday night, January 18th, El Paso's sports media took part in a 3-Point Shootout. 600 ESPN El Paso's Andy Lee and Brandon Cohn took aim for the Print and Radio Team, but lost to the TV squad 17-12. The Miners began their C-USA home schedule with Houston on Saturday night, January 7th 2012 at the Don Haskins Center. Former UTEP and NBA great Tim Hardaway saw his #10 retired at halftime. The Miners won the game 70-50 and improved their record to 8-8 this season...

On Saturday afternoon, December 31st 2011, Georgia Tech and Utah met in the 78th Annual Hyundai Sun Bowl. The game provided plenty of drama and late game heroics before Utah edged out a 30-27 overtime victory. Special thanks to my wife Karen for taking the pictures from halftime...

On Wednesday night, December 28th, the UTEP Miners men's basketball team hosted the Colorado State Rams in the first game of the Bank of the West Don Haskins Sun Bowl Invitational. Gabriel McCulley led the Miners with 13 points but the Rams won the game 56-53...

On Saturday night, December 17th, the UTEP Miners men's basketball team hosted the Southern University Jaguars at the Don Haskins Center. Julyan Washburn and Gabriel McCulley each scored 19 points as the Miners won the game 87-57.
