After three games, the UTEP football team has already duplicated their win total from last season. The 2-1 Miners are on a bye week and do not return to action until Saturday, September 27th when they play at Big 12 power Kansas State. For UTEP head coach Sean Kugler, his team has shown major improvement in their second season. Coach Koogs joined Team 600 in studio Tuesday afternoon and took questions and phone calls from Miner fans.

"We're disappointed that we're not 3-0, it was certainly a game against Texas Tech that we could have had but we didn't. We're at the first quarter of the season and we have a bye week, and then we have another quarter and a bye week, and then we go six straight at the end. We are really using this week to work on fundamentals, individual technique, and focus on recruiting."

"I think the quality of football in El Paso has really gotten a lot better since I played here and coached here. I think a lot of that has to do with the population expanding. Our recruiting starts in El Paso.
