UTEP head football coach Mike Price will stay head football coach for at least one more season, according to Miners' Director of Athletics, Bob Stull.

Stull made the official announcement at a press conference Thursday afternoon and reiterated the program's support for the winningest coach since Bobby Dobbs' "Flyin' Miners" of the 1960's and 1970's.

Citing the program's continuity and where it was before Price, Stull downplayed the lack of a contract beyond the upcoming season, saying the Miners' situation was no different than any other program's with all the turnover in the sport.

Miners head football coach Mike Price says the loyalty in the UTEP program is one of the reasons he's wanted to stay on for a ninth season.

Stull also makes an interesting announcement at the 5:10 mark of this video -- the Conference USA-Mountain West merger may be an all-sports merger, not football only.
