The Valero Texas Open is underway in San Antonio and a couple of PGA players are dealing with bizarre equipment failure. Troy Merritt did something you hardly ever see in golf; he put a hole through the middle of the face of his Wilson 2-iron after a hard swing on the 11th hole. As if that swing wasn't strange enough, watch what happens to Phil Mickelson'sCallaway 8-iron as he swings out of the bunker on the par-4 12th hole.

According to Golf Digest, what happened to Merritt and Mickelson is not a normal occurrence. In fact, they called it two of the strangest equipment malfunctions that you will ever see in golf.
