Grizzles Beat Chihuahuas and Advance to Championship Series
The El Paso Chihuahuas' incredible season came to an end on Saturday night as the Fresno Grizzles beat them 7-4, advancing the Grizzlies to the Pacific Coast League Championship Series. The Grizzlies will now face the Round Rock Express in a best-of-five series.
The Chihuahuas couldn't overcome as big a lead as they did on Friday night. Grizzlies pitcher Brett Oberholtzer held the Chihuahuas to one run in six innings. The Chihuahuas tired to mount a comeback in the eighth inning as Hunter Renfroe hit a three-run homer that cut the lead to 7-4, but it wasn't enough as the Grizzlies closed out the Chihuahuas in the ninth.
We at 600 ESPN El Paso would like to congratulate the Chihuahuas organization for a great season and we look forward to broadcasting their games next season. We would also like to thank the Chihuahuas' fans for all their support.
